Thank you for your interest in joining the World War 2 Military Commemorative Association (MCA). The MCA is a historical reenacting organization that has been operational for a number of years now and is headquartered in Auburn, California. The MCA has men and women throughout the states of California, Nevada and Oregon AND we are growing! We have everyone from doctors, lawyers, professors and students to mechanics, businessmen and even the "professionally unemployed" In fact, people from every walk of life reenact, and each one offers knowledge on different subjects. We all become one at the events and endeavor to relive an experience that only WWII can give. Often, the only missing elements are the real shells and bullets!

If you are an honest and serious student of history, or just a pure reenactment buff, and wish to contribute to the hobby by being a part of it, then join us! However, do not just "take" from the Hobby, but also "contribute," even if it is only as a GOOD SOLDIER. This is not a spectator sport. We usually do not invite the public to our "combat" events—it is for us! We feel that the type of people we want will find us—sooner-or-later! We think of ourselves as a small fraternity where we can trust any “comrade” regardless of his uniform. The honor system prevails in this hobby, and to break trust with the system by stealing is the MOST serious crime on the field, and it will be dealt with VERY SEVERELY. What binds us together is a common interest in history and the Second World War. As reenactors, we portray not only U.S. soldiers from that era but also the GI's opponents during this conflict.

Organization

The MCA is run by a Board of Directors which is elected by the general membership. The Board is responsible not only for running events, but also admin duties such as: Safety, Recruiting, Finances, Event Scheduling, Authenticity Standards, as well General Oversight and management of the organizations bylaws.

Time Requirements

The MCA participates in and organizes approximately 5-6 events per year.  These events can range from static "Living History" displays at museums, air shows or historical sites to our main activity: Combat Battle Reenactments which are usually held at a site we have near Foresthill, California. Something in the works is a "Period Living History" event just for us--no spectators, just 24 hours a day WWII era life.

These combat events can often be grueling to the participants, but at the same time they are usually quite rewarding. These reenactments are usually "unscripted" battles, wherein the outcomes are determined by the side using the best application of 1940's battle tactics. Often these battles will include the use of WWII vintage vehicles, some of which weigh as much as 50 tons or more.  Rare are the conditions when one can actually see World War II vintage vehicles operating in the kind of conditions they were built for.
